Our journey
Tys got its start in the 1990s, although then it went by a different name. Spain was relatively new to the EU and information was beginning to flow between institutions and companies at a dizzying rate, sending the demand for translation services in all sectors skyrocketing.
In 1996, with quite a few years under their belts meeting the translation needs of local businesses and institutions, two translators decided to pool their efforts and create Tys. It did not take long for the company to secure its first contracts, with both government and major corporations. Over time the company gradually found its niche, providing high-quality, tailor-made professional translation services. Since then Tys has prided itself on being able to meet a wide range of language and management needs, with its finger steadily placed on the pulse of technology.
As one decade gave way to another, Tys teamed up with five other companies to found the first national association of translation companies. It also took part in drawing up the first European standard for translation, which would later give birth to UNE-EN ISO 17100:2015, and actively promoted quality standards among clients, translators and universities. The turn of the century also saw the company grow from 5 to 12 employees and tap into the full potential of groundbreaking technologies like computer-assisted translation systems, management software and ICT.
Today, with over 20 years’ experience and 20 people on staff, Tys leads the sector thanks to the quality of its services and the technological solutions it provides to ensure streamlined production and management processes.
